Well, let's see! I got back from NSO for the Air Force Sunday! It was....I don't really know how I would describe it. When I was there it was awful, or parts were, but now that I think back on it, it wasn't so bad......
We left Friday at about 2:30.....Yes, I did have to miss 2 lectures, but oh well, I'll be able to catch up fine. We went to an Army Base that is about an hour from the MIT Campus, and it seemed like a fairly long ride. When we got there we were assigned rooms and room mates. At first they were going to put me with one of the boys, but they quickly fixed that little goof, but I still ended up without a room mate! Oh well, we weren't in our rooms long. We had to quickly change when we got there and go downstairs for PT (Physical Training). It was ok, not bad at all; ok it was tough, but not too bad.
We had sandwiches for dinner that night and then we had a quick lesson on marching and went over for a 'Briefing' about something (I forget exactly). Saturday was not so much fun.....IT POURED ALL DAY....I mean REALLY poured!! We were stuck inside cause it was so bad. We practiced marching all day! We had PT in the morning and afternoon and evening and we had a few more briefings.....but mostly we marched! And marched and marched.....and it wasn't fun! But there was nothing else that we could have done; all of the things that they had planed for us got canceled cause of the rain.
But now we can really march! Thankfully, it lightened up in the evening and we were able to go outside for a little while. It was the best part of the entire weekend!! We played soccer in the rain (it was slightly raining instead of pouring), it was awesome!! I loved it! The POC (people who have been to field training, jrns & up) beat us GMC (frosh & sophomores, but the sophomores played w/POC because they had fewer people).....of course we lost, but that's not the point, we had a lot of fun!
Sunday was also a lot of fun! It stopped raining and we were able to do an obstacle course. There were all of those things that you see in the movies, we even had to crawl on our tummies.....that one wasn't the best cause we got really dirty. In fact, how do I get sand out of my jeans and sweat shirt??? I washed them and it's still there....but anyway, the course was fun too.
We came back to MIT and had pizza for lunch and met with our squadrons to have an initial meeting. Then I spent the rest of Sunday catching up on homework that was due Monday and Monday doing the stuff due Tuesday, I kinda got behind because of being gone all weekend, but oh well. I learned to march!

Sounds like a fun weekend...except for the marching :) We once played soccer in the rain, and we kept falling down and getting all muddy and then the boys would pick us up! It was soooo much fun. By the way, I'm an avid reader of your blog. POST POST AND POST SOME MORE!
Cheers!
