My hall threw a party a while back...it's not exacty a common thing for people on my hall. I live on one of the quietest halls and not many of the people I live with don't spend much time at parties other halls throw, many don't even go to them.
The way Amy put it: "My hall's throwing a party tonight. This is a big deal - we're one of the few halls of my dorm that doesn't throw a party at least once a year, and honestly, we haven't thrown one in 4 years."
There were a lot of worries...everything from going overboard on the theme (Arabian Nights) to their music of choice is Bjork and techno. Oh yeah, and we decided to have alcohol...when I was really the only one who knew anything about what to get and how to serve it.
As it turned out, everything went great...there was a bellydancing contest (the third runner up got a lapdance...the other winners were jealous!) and a few henna designs, drunken Karaoke Revolution, and dancing to crapy music. And the alcohol situation worked out...another hall that throws a lot of parties gave us a list of what to buy and helped us start out serving.
Later, Alison E, this guy (Draketh aka. Nick) that was visiting her, and I tended bar for the last hour and a half or so. It was a lot of fun! Draketh and I made some drinks for people and they greatly enjoyed talking to them. I've always thought that it would be kinda fun to be a bartender and get the chance to talk to people and make fun of drunk people...and oh, did we have fun!
Here are a few of the pictures that we ended up with...
