Imagine this...
Your computer is having heat issues—ie. the computer is getting warm, no, hot and starting to freeze up and get angry. What do you do?
The answer is this...
Step 1: Back up your C drive regularly
Step 2: Call Dell Tech Support and see about warranty
Step 3: If you are covered...get them to fix it!
If not...fix it yourself!
What did I do?
1st: Hibernate whenever I’m not on it.
2nd: Keep books in the freezer to cool it down.
3rd: Plan to take care of it during “the next break”
4th: Put it off...that next break was just around the corner
5th: Set things up to take care of it during Thanksgiving
Pulled out the external hard drive to copy my files...
But then it all went wrong...
My hard drive crashed!
David tried to save my files, but my hard drive wouldn’t spin up at all...damn heat! Vimal recommended a place that I could send it into so that they could get the data back for relatively cheep, so I sent it in.
I recovered though...kinda...Fish and Vimal bought me a new hard drive (I got it the next week). I got everything set up so that I could finish up my term—I needed PowerPoint a lot because I had 3 final presentations. They all went off without a hitch, and I even got full credit on my 6.131 (Power Electronics) Final Project! (more on that later!)
