Thanksgiving!

On my way to Thanksgiving #1...this one's at alisonc's place. She's doing her mom-side's Thanksgiving. I'm sure she's stressed...so I'm goin' over there, with the hopes of helping her relax......

...had to change trains...where was I...oh, yes...helping alisonc relax! I'm taking pie! Two pies actually. I told her that I'd bring pie and asked her which she wanted, chocolate or lemon meringue. Her response (after careful consideration...and a lot of little noises) was "I don't know, surprise me!" And, really, y'all know how much I hate making decisions...so I made both!

The only problem is that now I have 2 pies, a purse, & water bottle but only 2 hands! I've got the purse over my shoulder, with the H2O attached, and a pie in each hand. I really could've used some sort of pie-carrier with a lid...oh well, maybe in five years I'll think of needing one again! At any rate, having a pie in each hand makes it a little difficult to do things..like opening and closing doors or putting my T-pass next to the reader thing...

Oh well, almost there!

...

So, it's the morning after and I have 2 uneaten pies and 2 pounds of applesauce. I didn't make it to Thanksgiving #2 (hence the pies) and alisonc sent me home with the applesauce...it's all I would accept. Thankfully there weren't any "don't's" associated with me leaving the uneaten portions of the pies!

At any rate, before dinner (cause I got there about 2 hours early) I helped alisonc out in the kitchen. I was a good little minion! Mashing & stirring & dishing & cooking giblets & providing emotionally support. It was fun. Dinner was glorious.

After dinner we played a couple rounds of Zombie Fluxx. I totally kicked butt on the second round.

Then we had dessert! There were 6 pies, applesauce (because it had been forgotten during dinner), and 2 kinds of ice cream. Alisonc made 4 pies, 2 apple and 2 pumpkin...but we only cut into one of each, so she sent the other two home with the family. While we ate massive quantities of sugar, the siblings played Scrabble and alisonc, her mom & step-dad, and I sat around the table and yammered. I love the sound of people eating my pies!

After the family departed, one of alisonc's sisters took us out to see Planet 51. It was so cute! And very 50's...glorious

All & all, it was a great Thanksgiving! And now the smell of chocolate pie is getting a little hard to resist, so I'm gonna go eat something before I lose control and have chocolate pie for breakfast.
