Friday I took the world's worst exam . . . it wasn't bad because it was hard (it actually wasn't very hard at all), it wasn't bad because I didn't like the subject (although I really do not like Bio), it wasn't bad because I wasn't prepared (I was totally prepared!)
It was bad because they overbooked the quiz room.
Ok, let's start at the beginning . . . Biology *cough*sucks*cough* is, for the most part, a Freshman class. This means that there are _a lot_ of people in the class, which drives me crazy because of the crowded-ness of the lecture hall (specifically getting out of the room after class makes me really uncomfortable). At any rate, because the class is so large, there is not enough room in the lecture hall for everyone to take the exams in it. Because of this, they reserve Walker (a big testing room) and half the class (by last name) go there while the other half go to the lecture hall and sit everyother seat.
What happened Friday was that someone in the Institvte double booked Walker -- both 18.06 (a math class) and my 7.012 (biology) were supposed to be there. Well, you can't put two people at each table in Walker, however you can put people in the seats between Biology testers in a half empty lecture hall . . .
. . . Yea . . .
. . . first they make me sit in the middle of the lecture hall (in order to get an every-other-seat on the edge/in the back you have to get there 15 mins early and normally it doesn't make a difference)
. . . then they bring in (let's say) 100 more people!
It was horrible!
I was surrounded. I was uncomfortable. I had a panic attack.
The fact that there was someone in every seat within 10 feet of me made me really, really uncomfortable . . . and I kinda freaked out. It wasn't too bad -- it was only a minor panic attack -- I didn't make a scene or hyper-venilate or go to the hospital. I just got really, really, really uncomfortable and jittery and figity and just not happy.
I did finish the test . . . and I think I did ok . . . but I stayed in my seat long after the test was over (ok, only a bit longer than it took everyone to leave the room) and the class administrator came over to take my test and see why I wasn't leaving. I told her that I was really uncomfortable, from so many people being there, but I was so jittery that I couldn't really come up with what was really wrong. She told me that it was a very strange situation and that they'd take that into consideration, but to also e-mail her just so that she would remember my name.
So yeah . . . I really needed Yoga this morning . . . it was a big help, even if I'm still pretty tense . . .
Long story short, I freaked out during a test . . . accadimically, it's not a big deal . . . emotionally, it sucked . . . and physically I'm still recovering from it!
