4:00 AM - According to a source at The Tech, by 4AM the Campus Police and Facilities had checked out the 'bomb' and found it to be safe.
7:30 AM - The Cambridge Police Bomb Squad arrived and started poking at it, then proceeded to detonate explosives next to it to try and set off any internal detonators, then used a robot to prod and/or try and drill through it.
After the Bomb Squad had ascertained that yes, really, it was just a 600lb chunk of concrete and rebar, MIT Facilities removed the 'bomb' with a forklift.
...Campus Police - 1; Cambridge Police - 0...
I mean, really, do you think it looks like it could possibly be a real bomb?
