Toilet Paper seems to be shrinking on us . . . now, I know that all those commercials are saying that their TP is stronger, thicker, more absorbent, etc than their ‘generic’ competitors, but does that actually mean that you’re getting more for your money? I think not!
Toilet Paper is approximately (on average) 1cm narrower than it was ‘back in the day.’ You have to be asking yourself one of two things right now . . . (1) What the hell is she on? Or (2) How in the world could she possibly think/know that?
Well, I’ll tell you! (of course I’ll tell you, it’s my blog and that’s the whole point of this, right?)
(1) Ok, so that’s a long list . . . but I promise that it has no relevance on this claim . . . and also that it only seems like a lot because I take a multi-vitamin the size of my thumb! Something, something, go go vitamin abcdefg . . .
(2) I have proof! . . . maybe I should go take a picture real fast . . .
oh well, I forgot to! But you have to believe me: It’s shrinking!
I guess since I don't have a picture, I’ll elaborate: Back (in the day) when I was little, the TP took up most of the width of our little mid-old-fashioned TP holder. The design is actually quite simple and works very well (until they shrink the TP) because you don’t have to worry about unhooking this or sliding that or opening the side, you just pop the roll in-between the little spring-loaded stumpy-things and go . . . or knock the empty tube out with a whack. Very simple, right?
At any rate, it is a very simple concept! The problem is that it's not working now that they’ve started shrinking the TP! Now there are a couple of extra centimeters on the side of the roll, which translates to very little support from the springy-things, which translates to my TP falling off the holder . . . I’m very sad here . . . can't you see the tears?
At any rate, there’s your proof . . . while the rolls may be getting longer, thicker, and "better", they are also getting narrower! You know what that means? You’re paying more for the same amount of Toilet Paper.
And my roll-holder-thingy doesn’t work very well anymore.
I’m crying on the inside.
