I've had 5, count 'em, five presentations in nine days...
(1) 11-30: 6.021 Hodgkin-Huxley Dry Run Presentation
(2) 12-02: 6.152 MEMS Presentation
(3) 12-07: 6.021 Hodgkin-Huxley Presentation
(4) 12-07: 6.152 Microfluidics Poster Presentation
(5) 12-08: 21L.773 Final Poem Project Presentation
Now, normally I don't hate presentations, even in mass, but there's something different about these...I've decided that it's not about me, it's all about the professors. They are, after all, doing the grading!
Basically, we go into my Hodgkin-Huxley Dry Run and they tear us a new one..ok, so maybe it wasn't that bad (the whole point of it was to give us feedback, but there is such a thing as positive feedback...it would be nice to know what we did right! arg. Ok, it was that bad.) Then I go into my
MEMS Presentation and the feedback is glowing! It even took them a minute to come up with questions...the lab tech actually said "I've got nothing...I could try to stump her." of course after someone else came up with a question, he piped up too.
Now, it'd be one thing if the HH Presentation got ripped to shreds over the methods/data analysis/anything that actually differs in the material...which they did too, but that didn't bother me as much...it was understandable. However, they also ripped apart our presenting style too! Arg. Without going into too much detail, there were actually aspects that 6.021 didn't like and 6.152 did...quite frustrating.
And so, yeah...call me bitter.
