So, Halloween out here was a big to do! Ok, not really, just in our area. None of the dorms on West Campus had anything for us to do, but oh well...East Campus kept us busy!
Friday! Well, after I finished altering my costume I went back down to my hall and hung out. We watched Memento. That a really freaky movie, not scary like, but strange. It's got a much tweaked story line. I really liked it! We also watched Pi...That one's really bizarre! The whole thing is in black and white, but not the normal one with grays, it was black and white with the contrast turned all the way up. It was really really weird. Anyway, after that we went and watched the Pumpkin Drop. It was really cool. They had over 40 giant pumpkins that they dropped off of the green building (I think it's the tallest building around...anyway, it's 25 stories high, but the first floor is really tall and off the ground, so it's really like 30). It was really cool. All the pumpkins went smash! Some of them were filled with sugar or flower or stuff to make in more interesting; however the cops found out and kinda shut it down early, oh well. I was still really cool! After that we went to the party on 41 West (the freaky, crazy hall that I was temped on). The party was ok, nothing special, so we didn't spend much time there. Amrita and I and a few other people went for a walk toward
Saturday. I had to go practice marching with a riffle during the morning so that I can be ready for the POW/MIA Vigil on Wednesday. Then we had the International Feed Saturday evening. Rob and I made Fried Okra again and also some mashed yams (some with marshmallows! They were good!). Rob did most of it because I kinda slept too late, but I did really help. After ROTC I had gone back to bed, expecting to wake up about 2 in order to help, but I didn’t wake until 4. Oh well. It was really good food. We have a bunch of Indian people on our hall, so there were a lot of those dishes and they were all excellent! After the feed, a few of us got all dressed up in our Halloween costumes and went around different Athena Clusters (computer rooms) and did this little skit (yeah, not really my thing, but oh well). When we had sufficiently worn that out we went to Verde's (little market in the
Sunday. I got to sleep in! Well, I better after a Saturday like that! So, I got up about 1 and did a lot of work. I'd punted all weekend and needed to get something done! Then about
I did watch a lot of movies this weekend, it was great! So relaxing! It was a lot of fun! Except, now I have a lot of work to do tonight, ok, not a lot, but some, I should really get to it! Back into the grind! I'll let you know how wed goes and post some pictures—Amrita is taking some! Yippie!
Happy Halloween!

I'm so sorry. I thought that I already said this, but oh well. Tooling is MIT for studding/doing class work. Punting is putting off tooling that you really should do. Cruft is basically stuff, generally of the electronics sort, but it could be anything that you use to build cool stuff. Crufty (generally "old and crufty") is when you have been around for a while and have LOTS of cruft. Hosed: overloaded with work...and not happy about it. One of the best terms: Hacking: No, not computer hacking... wandering about at night finding all the hidden and off limit places on campus among other things... see the MIT Gallery of Hacks for more information. Hell, well, one guess tells you that's MIT :). AND there are many many more! I actually found an MIT Glossary that you could go to if you are really interested in the language that I am learning :). http://web.mit.edu/21w785/F98/HTG/glossaryC.html
