Ah! Finals! Ick!
End of Term! Wa-Hoo!

Wow...the last day of classes was Thursday....That's right! Thursday! No classes left until February!! Wa-Hoo! So happy! Everything leading up to finals has been so hectic!

First of all, MIT does not allow anything due the last week of classes if you have a final in the class. Also, if you don't have a final, there can only be one thing that is due. Because of this policy, many professors make things due that last Friday....and by many, I mean all! It was not fun to have so many p-sets due in one day....oh well! After that, we are now in the home stretch.

After class Thursday, we had the slumber party. It’s a hall tradition where we go down to the dorm lounge and watch movies from 8pm to 8am and eat lots of junk food. I was a lot of fun and we watched a lot of really good movies!

Friday night, after I woke up at 4:30pm we had "Clay Cooks Good Stuff." Basically it's a hall feed where Clay cooks whatever he feels like! Boy was it good! Clay got a whole big tuna at Haymarket and lost of other things and he cooked that tuna three different ways. So yummie!

After that we had Formal Cocoa and Secret Antony--yet another couple of hall traditions. Secret Antony is the same old game of Secret Santa with a new name, you know that one game where you draw someone's name out of a hat and have to buy them a present. Well, Alison and I were put in charge of taking care of it this year--I contributed my time by drawing a very lovely picture on the white board! It turned out really nice even if I was very much punting p-sets and avoiding sleep to the wee hours of the....never mind :) at any rate--Formal Cocoa is once a year (and always combined with Secret Antony) when we have real cocoa (made with milk and expensive hot cocoa powder) and get all dressed up (or dressed down--and that means anything from PJs to Boxershorts) for Cocoa Time. It's a lot of fun! There were also many chocolate snacks there that were quite tasty. Anyway, almost all of the gifts were really cool and just right for the person. I ended up getting a Scone Cookbook--I think that I have really gotten a label for cooking sweets...oh well, I like it.

After Formal Cocoa the tradition is to go watch a move, but some of us were a little movied out, so we went to a lecture hall and played Nintendo! All fancied up (or down)! It was a lot of fun...although after a few people left and there were only three of us it kinda turned into kill me time. They found out that DK can walk around carrying people and so they carried me right off the edge. Not fun, yet still very funny, only not funny, even though we are still laughing about it.

Today was a pretty relaxing day! Slept in a little. Did a tiny amount of work. Cleaned the room and did laundry. And finished hanging Christmas Lights--ok, almost finished. We've not got lights going all around the room, but I still have two strings of lights left and I'm not sure what I want to do with them. Oh well, I'll figure it out! But for now it's off to bed for me! I need to get some sleep before Finals! Ah! They start in two days! AH!
