Then, the second Friday after classes started, the most awesomeness thing happened! Most of you won’t care about this because, well, it’s a computer geek/gaming thing...ok, mostly a computer gaming thing...anyway! The writer of Penny Arcade came to MIT and gave a “lecture.” Basically they got up in front of us and answered our questions, then the one that draws started drawing some of the characters and handing them out. [I was so bummed that no one I knew got one, especially that I didn’t get one, oh well] It was really, really cool! They did a comic about coming to talk to us...be warned, it’s a little on the tasteless side, but it’s still really funny...take a look if you’re still interested! :) They also visited my dorm...the only thing that matters is the first paragraph. The whole thing was so much fun! After the lecture Amy and I convinced a few of the people that went to the lecture to join us in a trip to eat Ethiopian food for dinner. It's really nice to get out and take other people out with us--broaden their horizons!
That same Saturday my hall did a few really great, relaxing, events. [All organized by me, thank you very much!] First we all woke up early [that’s right, I got up early on a Saturday] and went out to brunch...the best brunch ever! Dim Sum! It made me so happy! **Imagine happy dance all morning long** :) :) :) So great! Karen and I decided that we wanted Dim Sum earlier that week and I sent out an e-mail to the hall saying that the two of us were going no matter what, but if they wanted to join us, we would be happy to have the extra company. I believe that we had about eight or nine people go with us, it was really great to see so many people interested in Dim Sum!
After Dim Sum, a few of us went to Haymarket [it’s a farmer’s market of sorts, with really cheep fruits, veggies, and fish...it’s awesome!] and picked up fruit for the upcoming week. It was nice. Then we made our way home, where I meant to take a nap, but ended up watching a few episodes of Stargate (such a good TV show!) in Fish’s room.
After a little while I was informed that it was time to go shopping...I mean, I had to find something to wear that night. We all had to find something to ear that night...we were going to a midnight viewing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was so much fun! A handful of us went shopping at the Garment District (a store that sells all sorts of cheep clothing) and found things that would work well for the show. I ended up getting distracted and buying a few other things that weren’t for that night, I tried so hard to keep myself focused and the cost down, but in the end I found a couple things that I just couldn't live without. I bought a shirt that’s really cute, a medium length black skirt, and a suede jacket that looks really good and was only like $10. It was great. I also bought things to wear, specifically a pink fishnet shirt and pink fishnet tights. It was so great.
We spent a lot of time getting people dressed up for this, and I guess because it was my idea, I ended up being one of two people that everyone came to for advice about what to wear. It was great to dress up some of the guys. I posted some of the pictures in my public in a zipped folder, however they won’t stay there long very long because I don’t know how people feel about me sharing them. [I also put rush pics up in the same place] At any rate, it was fun, and I think that the just knowing what it was is enough. Ok, and the pictures will speak for themselves. It was so fun!

Group Shot!!

They were quite impressed with the dollar bill...

Jehan...I love that we were able to talk him into almost everything...except lipstick :)

Freshman Emily wins at Rocky Horror!

We are slowly but surely loosening fish up...there are lip prints on his cheek! :)

Rob, walking Ruth...need I say more?

Our freshmen were suprisingly comfortable with this...

That was about it for that weekend...Such an awesome weekend! It made my month. Ok, so the Dim Sum alone would’ve made my month, but—still—all of it was great!
